It doesn’t take most Inheritance fans long to react to the Eragon movie from 2006. “Hardcore” Inheritance fans’ consensus was dissatisfaction with plot alteration. Unfortunately, in Hollywood this isn’t an uncommon occurrence—in fact, movie studios are infamous for heavily altering the plots of movies adapted from books. Movie studios face a difficult task in converting novels—unrestricted by time length or specific target audiences—into movies that will hit it big at the box office. In some cases, they can pull it off; in other cases, not so much. Continue reading and we'll explore the specifics behind continuing the Inheritance movies! Continue reading...

Unfortunately, there are a few problems with the live feed, but the video will be up within one hour of the event. Just in case you lost the link, you can check it here.
Hope you're as excited as us and that you'll check out the video after it's finished!

He is starting questions soon!
Update: Question: What did you think about the movie? "I think it is fantastic the book was made at all, so few books ever made to film; just like the film is the film maker's version of the story, the book is my version of the story."

Just to re-cap on what will be going on today, we should have a clip of Christopher Paolini on the Today Show up within the next hour or two.
Thousands of release parties are going on over the country, but the big one is here in New York City. It's the official release party and the kick-off of Christopher Paolini's Brisingr tour in the United States. 1,500 lucky fans will pack in to the Union Square Barnes & Noble tonight with us, the staff of Shur'tugal, and Christopher Paolini. We'll be reporting live throughout the entire day to keep those of you unable to make it in the loop.
Starting tonight at 11:30 PM EST there will be a live webcast from B&N in NYC. We'll be posting an exclusive link to the live webcast later in the day.
We hope to be blogging live, posting news, and resurrecting our podcast throughout the day.
The trip reports for the first two days of the New York City trip to cover the Brisingr release are now online. The trip reports offer a unique perspective on the behind-the-scenes happenings at both Shur'tugal and Random House, and of course some exclusives and run-ins with Christopher Paolini himself.
Christopher Paolini sent out his newest newsletter today, talking about what it's like around the house before he heads out on his tour as well as what it's like when there's a small error in his books. As always, the newsletter is entirely worth reading, and if you aren't subscribed, you can read it here in our Alagaesia Newsletter archive!
Don't miss Christopher Paolini live on the Today Show tomorrow morning, Friday, after 8:30 AM EST! We'll be recording the interview, however, will not be able to have it up until Saturday or Sunday due to technical limitations here in the city.
Don't forget that starting today, Christopher Paolini will be participating in the Barnes & Noble Fantasy and SciFi book club, where he will participate in a discussion on the B&N forums with fans until Friday.
Michelle Frey, editor of the Inheritance Cycle, made a special appearance on Barnes & Noble's Tagged! show today to talk about Christopher Paolini, Brisingr, and her experience editing the Cycle.
You can view the Tagged! episode on the B&N website by clicking here.
Don't forget that Christopher Paolini himself will be making an appearance on the B&N Fantasy and SciFi Book Club later this week (Sept. 17th through the 19th).
Our friends at Barnes & Noble have let us know that starting September 17th until the 19th, Christopher Paolini will be hosting the Fantasy & Sci Fi Book Club on the Barnes & Noble website. Fans will have the chance to chat with Christopher as well as watch videos with him.
Their Barnes & Noble Tagged! episode on September 15th will feature special guest Michelle Frey, Christopher Paolini's editor!
We'll be sure to post reminders and any new information we receive regarding the appearances!
By now you'll have noticed the new header we're sporting, advertising new features we're really excited about. Our staff has been hard at work over the past few weeks to release our Comprehensive Guide to Brisingr - essentially, everything you need to know before heading into Brisingr... and more! Our guide contains summaries of Eragon and Eldest to get you fresh, the excerpts from Brisingr, a list of Confirmed Events, our list of Loose Ends (all of the loose plot ends that need to be tied up in Brisingr and beyond), as well as a detailed look at the most popular theories.
We've also released a Brisingr predictions page. This page is home to eight polls that we feel are key Loose Ends in the Cycle and we want you to vote on their outcome! Once Brisingr releases, we'll compare our votes to the real facts to see just how far off (or right on the dot) we were.
Don't forget that Shurtugal.com will also be in New York City for the launch of Brisingr as well as the launch of Christopher Paolini's book tour (yes, Christopher will be there - it's his first book signing stop!). This all takes place at 11 PM on September 19th. We've also got a big announcement related to the event coming soon, so keep checking back!
And we've heard some rumors that Shur'tugal is getting a facelift this week...
