Last Week on Lytherus: A Summary of Last Week’s Biggest Fantasy, Scifi, and Horror News and Reviews!
Before this week’s Inheritance Quest character, Big Twenty article, and Book Club podcast hit, we wanted to share all of the biggest fantasy, scifi, and horror news from the last seven days with our visitors from our sister site, Lytherus.com. Readers were treated to several surprise announcements, leaks, and revelations this week — mostly within the video game and movie communities. Batman news made the biggest splash this week with its public filming revealing several new characters, costumes and more. Hunger Games also made a bit of a splash with their own filming coupled with a few photo leaks! Blizzard may have accidentally slipped up on their next World of Warcraft expansion, rumored to be “Mists of Pandaria”. Meanwhile, League of Legends: Dominion was announced and previewed in a new trailer, and Borderlands 2 was officially announced following months of rumors about its existence. Check out our full “last week” summary post for all of the latest news and reviews!
Just a quick note to our fans and visitors that this week’s Big Twenty article has been delayed to next week due to Comic-Con coverage and travel constrictions. Our Inheritance Book Club will resume this week with episode five — the end of ERAGON!
In the mean time, we highly recommend catching up on past “Big Twenty” articles as well as past “Book Club” episodes to stay in the loop. We also have a huge amount of Comic-Con 2011 coverage over on Lytherus for fans to read. Stay tuned for more!
Attention gamers: we thought we’d give you a little update on last week’s HUGE gaming news while Shur’tugal is in a bit of a news slump. E3 2011 turned out to be quite the convention for gamers this year with the announcement of the next-gen Wii U console, the PS Vita handheld, a plethora of new games including Halo 4, CoD: MW3, Minecraft for Xbox 360, new Super Mario games, and much more. We realize that there’s a lot of gaming news to sift through after this huge convention, so we’ve compiled the highlights for you in one nifty summary post over on our sister site, Lytherus.com. Check the post out for the biggest and best E3 news!
Inheritance has had quite the presence at this year’s Book Expo America! Christopher was featured in the Random House fall catalogue, offered signed posters to BEA attendees, and most importantly, held a public event at Apple SoHo where he conducted a moderated Q&A, read an exclusive excerpt from Book 4, and autographed books for fans.
We were on hand to cover every aspect of Christopher’s exclusive event and have brought back a summary on his never-before-revealed Book 4 facts, interesting questions and answers, as well as our thoughts on the second excerpt released from Inheritance! Keep reading for all of these exclusives and more. View full article »
Book Expo America is known for its free books, cluster of publishers and authors galore. But one of the most exciting elements of the convention is largely unknown: publishers can throw some truly unique after-parties for their authors, accounts, and media. It’s a great time to mingle with colleagues, authors, and the people responsible for getting the books you read and enjoy out in public.
This year I was invited to the Random House Children’s Books BEA after-party, celebrating this year’s biggest RHCB authors, including Christopher Paolini, in attendance to promote Inheritance (Book 4)! The party was on The Intrepid – a retired aircraft carrier docked in the NY Harbor. Also in attendance were many familiar faces, including Tyra Banks, James Dashner, Lauren Kate, Michael Scott, N.D. Wilson, and more!

Authors, guest speakers, and attendees for this year’s Book Expo America in New York City are slowly being announced as the convention creeps up on us and among the already-announced authors attending the show is Christopher Paolini. Christopher is headed to the Big Apple to promote the upcoming release of Inheritance! Christopher is currently slated to do a book signing at the Apple Store in New York City during the convention (details after the jump). No other Paolini events have been announced, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated!
Members of the Shur’tugal staff will be in NYC as part of the Lytherus @ BEA team headed to the city to cover all aspects of Book Expo America! Be sure to check Lytherus.com during Book Expo America, happening May 23rd through the 27th for full coverage of your favorite books and authors, including Christopher Paolini! View full article »
