The Broddring Kingdom was the name of one of the kingdoms of Humans in Alagaësia. It preceded Galbatorix's uprising and the downfall of the Dragon Riders. Galbatorix slew the last true king of the Broddring Kingdom, and, taking the crown for himself, established the Empire. Surda was part of the Broddring Kingdom. In Eragon's time, the Broddring Kingdom was little more than a seal on a piece of paper, as everything was controlled collectively by Galbatorix.
