Fanghur are strange, dragon-like creatures who live in the Beor Mountains. The Dûrgrimst Fanghur is named after them. In order to hunt they make a high pitched noise to numb the minds of their prey. Saphira states in Eldest that she would like to try that the next time she goes hunting. These creatures also share ancestors with dragons. However they are not as smart and are unable to breathe fire. But they are still agile and majestic life forms. They are very rare.
