Helen is the wife of Jeod Longshanks, a merchant in Teirm who is a secret agent for the Varden. When her husband files bankruptcy and all his and her things are taken away she directs all her anger and frusturation at him. However when Jeod explains to her that if she comes with him on The Dragon Wing they will be safe in Surda. And still trusting him, she goes.
