The Inheritance Cycle is the name of the series of the books Eragon, Eldest, and Book III. This page has many links and information on the cycle.

Overview

The Inheritance Cycle was written by Christopher Paolini. The first book contains 497 pages, without including the extra stuff in the back of the book. The second book contains 668 pages. Also not including the extra stuff in the back. The extra stuff in both books contain pronounciation, the Ancient language, and more. In the limited editions of both books (info here, I don't have those books so I don't know anything about them).

Book 1, Eragon

In Book 1 of the series, a boy named Eragon finds an blue egg. Though he believes its just a strange stone. But when it hatched he finds it was a dragon egg, and he owns his own little baby dragon. He keeps it a secret from his family, bu his cousin Roran goes away for a while. Soon after an enemy comes and kills his uncle. Eragon learns from a teacher named Brom that he is a dragon rider and because of this gift, he must use his skills and his dragon Saphira to help reclaim the land from the evil king. Galbatorix.
