Magic

Magic, once completely wild, is energy which has the capability to alter the normal happenings of the universe. At some point in the history of Alagaesia, the Grey Folk bonded the Ancient Language with magic. After the fact the Grey Folk were never heard from again. Some say the spell took all their energy and killed them.

Magic in Races
Magic can be used by almost every race. The only race that has so far failed to exhibit magical abilites is the Lethrblaka in every stage of its development. The only race to have the natural ability to manipulate magic are dragons. Humans, Elves, and Dwarves all need to be exposed, and taught before they can use magic. Known also as gramarye (Eldest, 354).
Dark Magic
Dark magic is magic used generally by Shades or sorcerers. It consists of doing evil mostly, and in the case of Shades, sacrificing one's soul.
