I just read somewhere, that CP said Nasuada's character was going to change. Well, in my view I can only see something. Falling in love with Murtagh is not necesary a change, she could be in love with him and still be the same. I think when CP said that, he meant she will maybe join Murtagh because she maybe, would fall in love with him. That doesn't means he will fall for her. That would be a Morzan thing, hum, semes more likly.Mary 15:42, 2 September 2008 (CDT)
IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN PEOPLE. DEAL WITH IT. AFM
Why don't you ofer some evidence, rather than just your flat out opinion! --Kystra 19:43, 10 April 2007 (PDT)
of all the couples i've seen on this website, this is one of the more probbable. they both seemed to act more than kindly towards eachother, and they would sort of work together in my opinion. as i said before everything was deleted off of this page, CP said in an interview that Nasuada was going to have a character change. maybe he was referring to Nasuada falling in love with Murtagh. - Eringon
Perhaps.--Kystra 19:52, 10 April 2007 (PDT)
I thinl that they both already like eachother. In the first book, Murtagh was talking about how beautiful Nasuada is, and in the second, Nasuada seemed really sad about Murtagh and didn't blame him for his decisions, saying that it was a shame because he'd already had so much pain and suffering in his life.
Can you quote that, with a page number???
Um, hi. I really don't think that the whole Murtagh/Nasuada thing is going to happen. I mean, unless they've secretly been running away to each others castles (theoretically speaking) I don't think that they could have develpoed a meaningful relationship. She is too strong and independant to want to be imprisoned by falling in love with someone like Murtagh. They are too much like their parents to work. Sure, he said she was pretty, she seems to be in the book, and it was obvious that he admired her, but this was all before he was captured by Galbatorix. She also said that she was sad he died. Sure she was. She had met him brifely. He was probably quite a charming guy. If he hadn't turned evil, it ,might have worked. But, he didn't. and even at that, it was still a longshot. Also, now that Nasuada is leader of the Varden, Murtagh sees her with a kind of open contempt. Its a shame, I suppose they might have made quite a cute couple, but time and Paolini weren't that kind. Thanks for listening to my opinion! Hot Elf Babe
It could happen, but it won't, because as I think Kystra said in the Murtagh/Arya page, Murtagh will probably die some heroic, sappy death. Samuss
Which is what drives me nuts! People think that dying some pathetic, sappy death will make them honorable, but it just means they died some pathetic, sappy death!!!!--Kystra 10:28, 28 April 2007 (PDT)
Better to die for a good cause then to die for nothing. AFM
Dying wont really help though. Just means one less person to fight.--Kystra 20:15, 30 April 2007 (PDT)
Ahhhhh......... but what they can do before dying may very well help. For example, a Varden spellweaver goes near Galbatorix and utters one of words of death. Galby is destryoed, but then Varden guy dies in the process. (Not going ot happen.... Galby would break through the mind... but you get my point) AFM
I totally agree AFM. And I think you can replace 'Varden Spellweaver' with Murtagh, though. I think (just my opinion, now, please don't everyone jump in and scream at me) that Murtagh will die to save Eragon form Galby (thus dying a heroic, sappy death) OR he will kill Galby, but thus end up killing himself in the process. Poor Murtagh. As the coolest Inheritance character, he sure has it tough. -Hot Elf Babe
But If murtagh died, so would Thorn, most likely. Then Saphira would only have one dragon to amte with, and then they would have a horribly inbread race of dragons.--Kystra 15:18, 2 May 2007 (PDT)
This is such a vicious circle. -Hot Elf Babe
No one knows how bad the dragons would become if they are inbred. The dragons magical nature may prevent that from happening. Besides, we're still looking at the entire race having one mother, at least until other wild dragons (if any) are found. AFM
Only if the elves cast some mondo-cheapo spell over the dragon eggs will they not be inbred. There has been no evidence that they won't be inbred.--Kystra 19:38, 4 May 2007 (PDT)
Please note the MAY. The dragons magic influences there own survival, such as the eggs not hatching until the right time. Maybe this magical nature will affect the inbreediness (I know it's a made-up word). Maybe not. My point is, NO ONE KNOWS!!!!!!! AFM
Thats why there called theories.--Kystra 08:47, 5 May 2007 (PDT)
And I'm responding to your theories. AFM
Actually the elves cast a spell over the eggs that tell them only to hatch when their rider is near.--Kystra 09:29, 6 May 2007 (PDT)
In the wild, they didnt' hatch until food supply or weather was right.... AFM
Yeahhh animals dont get diseases from being imbred (for u religious ppl look at noahs ark) it happens alot in the wild. and yeah AFMs right about that hatching thing -Patteh
So...how does inbred dragons have to do with Murtagh/Nasuada? Plus, who came up with this theory in the first place? You probably stretched your mind pretty far in order to think that is possible. No one ever said that the story would have a happy ending, so everyone might just all die alone and in the dark, never knowing true love (I know that it sounds completly emo, but bare with me, here). You might not want to admit it, but CP's work has been said that he took alot of other's ideas. I don't hate him or anything, but wouldn't you think that he would try to disprove that by having an ending that is totally out there? -hawkeye8
MAbye you should read the other paoples theroies above the 1s u dont underatand. -Patteh
The inbred stuff started above saying that if Thorn and Murtagh died, Saphira would only have one mate and all the dragons would be inbred........ the argument was over anyone was sure if it had any bearing on DRAGONS AFM
Anyway back to the main point.
I don't think that this will happen because Galbatorix would find out. He would end up using Murtagh and then, as said before, Murtagh would most likely end up dying some heroic, sappy death, and that would be the end of Murtagh. Nasuada would probably die, too. Unless, of course, at the end of the third book, good old Galby gets murdered and Murtagh gets released, then he could run off with Nasuada, and they would live happily ever after. Rrrrrrright. Meggie
Murtagh seemed to really like Nasuada in Eragon, but I don't know if she would ever trust him now that Galby has control over him. Even if he was released. Maybe, but it seems improbable.-Halfelven
Dude. JUST found this...."Eragon listened to his praise with growing apprehension. It may mean nothing, he reminded himself. You're leaping to conclusions. Yet the foreboding would not leave him.'' This was Eragon's reaction to Murtagh's description of Nasuada. Two theories.
1.) This was him remembering Angela's fortune-telling of him and one of "noble birth". (because murtagh says he's seen ladies of the court who were more suited to life as a hog compared to her.)
2.) Or he was anxious because he thought that maybe murtagh liked Nasuada. This one (theory) is kind of missing something, but it also kind of makes sense.----Galby
If Murtagh and Thorn kill Galby, it doesn't mean they wil die from it. Remember, Galby and Shruikan have a PERVERTED union, perhaps meaning they can't help each other out with energy. Meaning, any combo of Murtagh and Thorn, Eragon and Saphira, and the green dragon and its rider could easily overpower him if his growing power source, i.e. the VOS, was extinguished. --safira
