"The challenge I faced then was to find an appropriate ending point for the third book - something that was dramatic and satisfying and wrapped up the third book in a good way and lead into the fourth book appropriately - you know, not just a cliffhanger. ... And I realized that since I started Eldest with the death of a major character, Ajihad, that a great way to end the third book would be with the death of another major character..."--Christopher Paolini

Theories

Apparently there will be another "major" death (last one was ajihad) at the end of the next book. I think it might be Oromis because his condition is rapidly degrading.

I have a horrible feeling that says Arya's gonna die. *shudders* --Icefire101 18:54, 27 February 2008 (UTC)if

I think It's going to be someone on the Varden's side. That way, the odds will be against the Varden, and due to some lengthy, poorly written death/sacrifice scene of Murtagh the Varden will win.*Gag*--Kystra 03:12, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

I totally hope it's not Arya like Icefire101 says.--Trish1408

Me too, and, I agree with Kystra cause the book would be more interesting if Eragon and the Varden won when they were disadvanvantaged.

Izlanzadi's going to die. Hrothgar's dead, Ajihad's dead, so Izi. should die, she's the leader of the elves.- Square'ead

What about Orrin? i just have that feeling.. and he's with the varden, soooooooo.....-Link
