Rock of Kuthian

The Rock of Kuthian is, as of the end of Eldest, an unknown. Not only is it not known where exactly it is in Alagaesia, but it's exact nature is also uncertain.

First mentioned by Solembum the Werecat in his advice to Eragon in Eragon (book), it will likely play an important role in book 3. According to Solembum, Eragon will go the Rock of Kuthian, speak his name, and thereby open the Vault of Souls. When Eragon mentioned Solembum's words to Arya, she said the name sounded vaguely familiar, but she could not recall why.
