Surda is an independent kingdom in the South of Alagaësia. It is an ally of the Varden. Surda is ruled by King Orrin.

History

Surda was once a part of the Empire, but after the Fall of the Dragon Riders it became independent of Galbatorix's ruling. Over the years, it became a sanctuary for all chased by the Empire or that opposed it.

Since the Varden were created that it is suspected that Surda has a connection with them and supports them. It's during Eldest that Surda officially announces that it is indeed supporting the Varden. King Orrin and his army participate in the Battle on the Burning Plains.

Cities

• Aberon

The capital of Surda. Upon leaving Farthen Dur, the Varden go to Aberon and form an official alliance with Orrin there.

• Cithri

Cithri is on the northern border of Surda.

• Dauth

Dauth is located in western Surda, near the border with the Empire.

• Lithgow

Lithgow is located in west-central Surda.

• Petrøvya

Petrøvya is located near Tüdosten Lake, right on the border.

• Reavstone

Reavstone is located on the southern most tip of Surda, on the coast. We can guess that it is a port city.
