I doubt anyone will read this page, but if they do, here it is:

I like the Eragon books, but not to the point of obsession. I'm a total bookworm; I have to get at least four huge books from the library to last a week. I recently reread Eragon for the third time and am currently reading Eldest, also for the third time.

My theories mainly stick to what the book says, mostly because when you think about it, they make sense. Paolini had to supply fact in his book supporting these theories so he wouldn't seem too out there. We all know he's a relatively inexperienced author; he might be able to pull a plot twist, but probably not very effectively or convincingly, especially with the facts he had to come up with to support his earlier surprises (Eragon being Murtagh's brother, etc.) working against him.

My pet peeve is to all of you out there (unfortunately, the majority) who believe that Brom is Eragon's father. First of all, Selena was pregnant when she returned to Carvahall. That alone is reason enough why Brom couldn't be Eragon's father. Also, Brom was old by the standards of humans, elves, and Riders when he died. He was around the same age as Galbatorix. Even taking away 16 years (Eragon's age) from that, he was centuries old. Selena, being a normal human, was in her 20's or 30's at the time, and, well, that's just WRONG. Not to be be weird or anything, but I doubt Brom could have fathered a child at his age.

Morzan seems to be the most likely candidate to be Eragon's father, here's a wacky theory: Galbatorix is Eragon's father. (Did I mention it was wacky?) When Selena was with Morzan, Galbatorix was the only one who knew about her, and the book also mentions that Galbatorix liked toying with the personal lives of the Forsworn. Galbatorix could have made it seem like Selena had been cheating on Morzan (this is especially provocative to him, considering he used Selena as his personal spy) and Selena, fearing her husband's anger, retreated to Carvahall saving her life and the baby's.
