Music
I'm in a band called...Well, we aren't very decisive, so we don't actually have a name right now. For a long time, we were called "TyRaid", and later "Flight 42", though we've been through around 30-40 names in all. We're currently recording our demo cd, which will most likely be freely available online when it's finished.
There are four people in my band:
Justin on Lead Guitar/Vocals
Meshell on Rhythm Guitar/Vocals/Occasional Lead Guitar
Evan (me) on Bass/Occasional Vocals
Rachel on Drums
I also play the Trumpet and the French Horn, which may or may not be used in future songs. And while I'm at it, Justin also plays Piano and Upright Bass, and Rachel also plays Flute/Piccolo (though she can play a few others as well).
Our songs vary greatly in style and sound, although we tend to have more Acoustic songs (Not to say we don't play heavy stuff too...just not as often.)
Writing
I am currently writing a book with Justin, Meshell, (Yes, they're in my band, too) and Micheal, called Failure Saga. It is a Comedic/Satiric fantasy novel and it's well under way. The actual book is divided into five "books", each of which follow the story of a Quester who has tragically failed his Quest.
The book begins in "Constantinople", afterlife for Questers. After learning about the satire on fantasy "spirit realms" that we've incorporated, each of the five dead Questers living there tells their tale.
Once "Book 1 - Arrest: The Story of Kardiac" is finished, it will most likely be posted online for review, at which time I will update this page to include a link.
Programming
I originally started out programming simple HTML when I was 12, and since then I've learned XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, DHTML, VB.NET, C++, C#, PHP, XML (in certain applications), SQL, ASP, ASP.NET.
My laptop blew up a while back so I haven't been able to work on my brainchild, SaraClient. It's a RuneScape client written in C++ that uses the Mozilla engine to load RS worlds, and once I crank out a beta it'll be open source. This is the first RuneScape client to use C++, the first to use Mozilla (firefox 1.0.5 gre, it'll be 2.0 if I get around to programming an integration between wxWidgets and the new embedded Mozilla api), and the second to be open source. It is the first to be natively cross-platform between Windows, Linux, and Mac (e.g., not interpreted, like Java). Unfortunately, just as I was making significant progress (Had it loading worlds and hiding ads/menus with links on the webpage), my computer decided to A 'Splode, and I just recovered my HD last week.
Also, my website is http://www.saraclan.com, although we aren't really looking to build up a community until after we finish coding all of our systems. Still, if you like RS movies, or want one, you should check it out. As a side note, none of the current Admins there (including me) play RuneScape anymore. We mainly just like programming, and RuneScape gives us some context :p.
Inheritance
I'm a fan of the Inheritance trilogy, although I find myself agreeing with the analysis of Paolini's writing at anti-shurtugal more often than not. That doesn't deter me though; aside from the first couple of chapters in Eragon (which are almost painful to read), he's not all that bad.
I used to be really involved on InheritanceForums, but stopped going to it mainly because (and I try to say this as humbly as possible), of the huge mass of unintelligible posts made there every day. Since then they've removed the Computer Club, which was mainly where I posted anyway. Recently, though, I've been known to post every now and again...
