Vermund was the Grimstborith of Dûrgrimst Az Sweldn rak Anhûin and it was he who orchestrated the attack on Eragon. After it was revealed that he had organised the plot on Eragon's life, he and Dûrgrimst Az Sweldn rak Anhûin were banished from clan activities until a new leader was chosen and they repented.
