Vervada, a wild dragon, was Saphira's mother. Iormungr, Saphira's sire, was her mate at one point. Her name means "Stormcleaver" in the Ancient Language. She laid many eggs, but only Saphira's egg was entrusted to the Dragon Riders. She died in the Fall.
