About the Symbol
Name: The Yawë
User of the Yawe: The Elves

The yawë is the elven symbol given only to people who the Elves truly trust. The only people who are known to have this symbol throughout the cycle are: Brom, Arya, and Eragon.

Not much is known about Arya's yawë. In Eragon it is revealed that on Arya's shoulder is a tatoo in the form of the yawë.

Brom has the yawë on his ring. All that is known about it is that it was given to him from Queen Islanzadi for his services to the Elves. In Eldest this ring, in the possession of Eragon, is brought to the Elven capital Ellesméra. Queen Islanzadi then allows Eragon to take it.

The Eldest Limited Edition features Christopher Paolini's rendition of Brom's ring.
