Random House and Christopher Paolini have officially announced the release of the Inheritance Deluxe Edition, following in the footsteps of Deluxe Edition releases for Eragon, Eldest, and Brisingr! Random House’s announcement goes on to announce the release of Inheritance in paperback, as well as a four-book paperback boxed set!

Set to release in North America on October 23rd, 2012, the Deluxe Edition will include a host of new content including new story additions and artwork by Christopher Paolini. The contents are as follows:

  • Gorgeous never-before-seen artwork by Christopher Paolini
  • An exclusive, full-color foldout poster by John Jude Palencar (series illustrator)
  • A letter from Jeod, one of Eragon’s confidants, summarizing life after the finale of the series (written by Christopher Paolini)
  • A letter from Christopher to fans reflecting on the series
  • A new never-before-published scene included within the text

The press release also mentions that Christopher will participate in national publicity events for the release, although these events have yet to be announced. We’ll be sure to post any event information as it releases!

Also included with the Deluxe Edition news was the announcement of the release Inheritance in paperback! The book’s cover will reflect last year’s cover changes, which feature a zoomed-in full-cover version of John Jude Palencar’s dragon artwork. The series will also be available in a four book paperback boxed set.

A cross between Jules Verne’s “Around the World in 80 Days” and a detective story, no Christopher Paolini book tour is quite right without him leaving his signature in all manner of places, including his signings!

While Christopher is currently on the second and final leg of his international Inheritance book tour, we wanted to share a complete summary of the events and happenings from the first half of his tour. Christopher diligently tweeted photos and information from each tour stop from many different locations in Europe. We’ve compiled hundreds of tweets and images into a three-part series, the first of which will feature photos, tweets, and information from all of Christopher’s signings!

Highlights from the first summary include many “sneaky pictures” of Christopher secretly signing copies of his books in book shops and airport stores he visited, as well as huge and epic book signing events, conventions, and more!

Keep reading for a full look at the summary… and be sure to check out Christopher’s scheduled tour stops in Australia and New Zealand. View Full Article & Comment

#PaoliniOnTour: Christopher Paolini is Down Under!

Following a month long break after an extensive tour through Europe, Christopher Paolini is back on the book tour circuit in Australia and New Zealand! Christopher has been and will continue to document his travels on his official Twitter account using the hashtag #PaoliniOnTour.

Random House has compiled a useful list of all of Christopher’s upcoming tour stops on their official website. Be sure to check the website soon, as Christopher’s tour is well underway!

We’ll soon be launching a series of articles looking at the first leg of Christopher’s tour, including tweets, interviews, and photos shared by the author during his travels!

Christopher is currently on in Germany as part of his European and Australian book tour, set to last through July. Christopher’s German publisher ran contest for fans to create a song based on the Inheritance cycle and it looks as though one group has risen to the challenge. Christopher recently met the pair responsible for the song at one of his Germany book tour stops, posing for photos and recording a teaser video for the release of the song and its accompanying music video.

We know very little about the song itself, but the German publisher (and the band responsible for the song) seem to be hyping it a great deal, indicating that the results should be promising! We’ll post the music video when it releases this Sunday. Below is Christopher’s teaser announcement for the video’s reveal:

Christopher is in New York City, ready to kick off his three-month-long international book tour, during which Christopher will visit the U.K., Europe, Australia, and New Zealand! He recently sat down to write a note to Inheritance fans, which we have to share with you:

Kvetha Fricäya. Greetings Friends.

Hi! At the moment, I’m at the Random House building in New York City, preparing for my overseas tour. This afternoon, I’ll head over to Europe for my first stop. Details of my events can be found here (the list will continue to be updated as time goes by):

Official #PaoliniOnTour International Tour Date List

This is going to be a really big exciting trip. I left home on April 9th, and I return home on July 2nd. In between, I’ll be visiting everywhere from Amsterdam to Australia. Some of the places I’ve been before (most notably on my overseas tour for Eldest), and some of these places I’ll be visiting for the very first time.

I’m looking forward to meeting as many fans of the Inheritance cycle as possible, and my goal is to sign all of their books!

As I travel around, you can follow me on Twitter at @InheritanceCP. I’ll also be writing regular updates to let you know where I’ll be signing and to share interesting stories along the way.

If you can make it to one of my events, I look forward to meeting you then. In the meantime:

May your swords stay sharp!

Christopher Paolini

Christopher’s tour will be using the hashtag #PaoliniOnTour across Twitter and Facebook. All of Christopher’s tour-related tweets will be marked with #PaoliniOnTour so that his fans can easily follow and contribute their own tour-related tweets as he travels the world!
