Before Du Fyrn Skulblaka, the Dragon War, and before the elves became immortal, there lived a woman named Linnëa. Linnëa grew old without having a mate or children. She was a master of singing to the plants. Then a young man came to her door, She fell in love with him. It was something she never felt before in her life. She abandoned her work for him and her second chance of living. For a time they were happy. The man was young in age and in time wanted a young woman not someone who is old. He found a young woman and for a while they were happy, until Linnëa found out about it and went crazy. He did the worse thing he could have done to her. He gave a taste of a full life then snuffed it away. She stabbed him when she found them together. She knew she had done wrong. Even if she was cleared of the murdering of the young man, she could never go back to the life she once lived. She went up to what was the oldest tree in Du Weldenvarden, the Menoa Tree. And she sang to it for 3 days and 3 nights until she become one with the tree.
