Shurtugal.com. We realized that while we like to, and plan to release many content pages covering major locations, characters, races, etc. it is impossible for us to compile everything fans want to know. At least, by ourselves.Thats where you come in. The Inheritance Encyclopedia is Shur'tugal.com's fan wiki. Anything you know, or want to know about Inheritance, post it here. Chances are, some other fan knows about it, and that any fans who know some other part of it can join in, making the article as inclusive as if Christopher Paolini had written it himself. Two sets of eyes are better than one, or, in this case, over one hundred thousand sets of eyes.
The Inheritance Encyclopedia was originally started by Fan Fiction Administrator Lindsey Skouras (Bio), as a resource for Fan Fiction authors wanting to make their stories more authentic. After the first few versions didnt come out as well as we had hoped, we decided to take a step back, and redesign the entire idea. MediaWiki software was installed, and under the joint leader ship of Lindsey and Allie, Project: Inheritance Encyclopedia grew.
However, after some lack of commitment, mismanagement, and misunderstanding of Mediawiki, the project eventually died. In May 2009, Arthryn took over the project and hired technical administrator TParis to lead the redesign and upgrade of the Wiki. With added features installed, content standardized and sourced, and articles properly categorized and navigation created, the Shurtugal Wiki is off to a completely new start toward quality content with relevant links and information. This endeavor has the added advantage of Inheritance Forums memberbase which is an active body with many discussions already on going. By taping into this resource, the Shurtugal Open Encyclopedia has improved content tremendously and given Wiki users and readers a great place to discuss their theories effectively merging these two member bodies.
Its goal is, and will continue to be, to provide a part of Shurtugal where Inheritance fans from all over the world can come to research and share their knowledge of the Inheritance Cycle in a controlled, but open, environment.
