[edit] Online
Hey TParis. I'm online now, anything I can help you with? --Heir Of Eragon 20:00, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- Heh, geeze, I've got a list on my user page that you're welcome to dig into. Thanks!--TParis 20:01, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- No problem. I just deleted all the spoiler tags off all those pages. Now shall I delete the spoiler tag altogether? --Heir Of Eragon 20:27, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- Nah, I figured we could keep it for whenever book 4 arrives. Thanks for taking care of that.--TParis 20:28, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Deleted Pictures
Why did you delete half off my pictures? -Elfbob
- They violated one of the rules about images. Most likily they had bad copyright information, they were unrealted to inheritance, or they were only used on the user pages. We're cleaning up the wiki starting with all the people who use Wiki to store images. This isnt an image hosting site. This has been discussed on the suggestions page as well and your images had the {{deletion}} tag on them for weeks before they were deleted giving you ample opportunity to use them elsewhere or make a case to keep them. Your other ones are still there only because I havent gotten around to having them deleted. It's a slow process and I've been trying to get work done on all aspects of the wiki.--TParis 16:47, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Well that completly ruins my user page, they weren't ever in any violation of the rules in the past whats so different now. -Elfbob
- What is different now is that whoever ran the wiki before had never even seen a wiki before. Doesn't really matter if it ruins your user page, this isnt myspace. Make a link to your IF profile or your myspace page. The point is quality Inheritance related articles and images. When I have to sort through 50 user images of batman and lord of the rings to find 1 image of Arya, there is a problem.--TParis 13:30, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- Then there is no reason to make a user page anymore if you can't express yourself, I don't want the wiki to become a boring grouping of facts. We should be able to express ourselves. And I'm one of very few people that actually on here much often (I'm including you too).
- Also note that User Pages are one of the most highly viewed pages in the wiki. Shouldn't we be able to personalize them as much as any other page?
- The argument that User pages are the most highly viewed pages on the Wiki only emphasized my point that this is not a myspace page. Articles should be the most viewed, user pages give a little tidbit about the user. Your user page looks more like a personal webpage than anything else. Try freewebs.com. Instead of focusing your time on user pages, try updating an article or fix some grammar. Try using images that work in articles as well. I managed to use a Lord of the Rings image from a user page on the Criticism of Eragon article. User pages should not be the main focus. The people who ran the Wiki before Allison took over had no idea what they were doing. A perfect example is that they were allowing discussion on article pages. Old rules get updated all the time no matter what website you are on. No images on user pages is an updated rule. If you want to, in the spirit of Wiki, argue against the rule, use the Suggestions page to have a debate. Ultimately, unless you make a good argument, Arthryn's decisions will stand. You are also welcome to discuss it with her. My stance is that I am not running the Wiki, I am only an admin so I can maintain the Wiki and enforce the new policies. Also, since November except for 6 edits, you havent made a contribution to a real article. This isn't a forum, use IF. And you've made less than 500 article edits since October 08 while I've made well over 850 article edits since only March. Please don't compare yourself ("And I'm one of very few people that actually on here much often (I'm including you too).") to me. I've made more contributions to the Wiki, obviously.--TParis 02:27, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- Well I personally don't want to make any enemies on the site, so I don't think all be starting any arguments. And the reason why I havent been making many contributions to the wiki is because my comuter crashed, I'm actually on my mom's laptop (lol don't tell). But have have contributed quite alot of information to the wiki. I have created almost 40 new pages about info within the series with detial, and have made proably a thousand edits on the other pages. I love the series and I just wanted to let the users of the wiki understand me. Btw I hate my space and facebook. Although I highly understand your point.
- Well if you look at Heir of Eragon's page, I showed him how to use external images, I'd suggest doing that if you really want to. And having a debate isn't an argument, in the wiki sense. Generally wiki's are a community effort that are ruled by a consensus. It's cool if you want to start a discussion about the rule, I just dont see a good argument to reverse it. You'd have to show a good reason to have images, or a good reason to have certain images.--TParis 20:12, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
LOL, I for one think this debate has gotten a little bit to heated. Truce? -Elfbob That's fair--TParis 13:34, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
Lol, mind if I put you on my friends list? -Elfbob If you'd like to.--TParis 19:47, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Durgrimst Ingeitum
the pic Durgrimst Ingeitum was made by me like most of the pics i summit im an airbrush artist-RuggishBone 21:10, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- Awesome. I created a {{authorapproved}} tag for those kinds of things. Mind adding {{authorapproved|name=}} and putting your name on it?--TParis 21:17, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
ok when i get time i will--RuggishBone 21:25, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Shur'tugal.com
Hey, check out my progress on the Shur'tugal article. What else does it need? - Se'Bastien (BND)
- I think it's amazing. You did a great job. If you're looking for a new project, the Inheritance Forums article could use that level of quality revisions. Also check out my prjects and the Main_Page for other things that need work. Thanks!--TParis 20:41, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I'll choose a new project soon. Probably going to be the Inheritance Forums article. I guess I'll just keep going until I get an "Article of the Week". Well, I'll keep going, even after that. :P -Se'Bastien
- I think the Shurtugal topic will be our next one. I havent seen anyone else put out the effort since the Saphira article to build a quality page.--TParis 20:52, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Minor Characters
TParis, there are quite a few articles about characters that are "incomplete" compared to other articles. These articles will forever remained incomplete, because they are only mentioned once in the cycle. Wouldn't it be more sensible to make a "Minor Characters" page and put a list of all the minor characters, with a short description of them together? - Se'Bastien
- Allison and I talked about that once and didnt decide anything. I like seperate pages for 2 reasons, 1) It makes it easier to index them and categorize them, and 2) this wiki is devoted to Inheritance and if we made every minor page part of a large page, we'd only have a dozen pages. I recommend just removing the {{incomplete}} tag. Although, let's be honest here, I am only an admin because I needed access to do certain things. I am by no means in charge nor do I make the rules. This is mostly a community effort so if you want to start a discussion about this, by all means I am game for whatever the community decides.--TParis 01:43, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
- Where then, should I start a discussion on this? I see your points though. We would have a lack of articles. Perhaps, removing the incomplete tags would be the best option. -Se'Bastien Edit: Ah, wasn't logged in. I did edit that in though. -Se'Bastien
- Start it using The_Inheritance_Encyclopedia:{title} as the prefix. Just change {title} to the discussion topic. It will create a special project page that wont act like an article. You can call it "User Discussion" and create a subheading for stub pages and the incomplete tag. We can link to it for Wiki discussion. Of course, Arthryn still runs shop, but Wiki has traditionally been user managed.--TParis 13:00, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Help
I've only recently joined this wiki page (I tried to sign up for the shurtugal forums, but for some reason the confirmation email was never sent out, no matter how many I requested :[) but I want to contribute to help make it a good resource for everyone to use. At the moment I'm just editing random posts that I find that are inaccurate, have bad grammar/sentance structure and adding in citation's when I have the time (I'm in my last year of high school). I am lacking direction however as to exactly what needs to be done first... Any suggestions of what you want to be finished/created in the near future? Thanks.
- Hey, I got Hadha to validate your account on IF. We've got a box on the Main Page that has a list of what we need done and I have a personal list on my user page. You've been making great edits so far, very helpful. Just keep doing what your doing if you want or you can try taking on larger projects.--TParis 01:46, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- ! thanks so much for getting them to validate my account. I've got a theory that no-one else has come up with yet and I really want to get it out there haha. I've been looking at that box and adding stuff as I go. I'll probably take on a larger project in the near future. Thanks for everything.
[edit] Random
I thought Knowing was a good movie, although the writer must have one heck of an imagination, lol.
- I thought it was a decent movie but lacked a thoughtful ending. Maybe at one point human children would have had the insticts to survive at the age of 8, but in modern society, I dont think the basic survival skills needed are freqently taught and I doubt children would survive. Also, I think we would have a much longer warning of our impending doom from the sun. And if Aliens are advanced enough to predict our eventual demise 30+ years beforehand, that is plenty of time to evacuate the entire planet. That is roughly 250,000 people per day for 30 years (1970 earth population was 3.7b). Finally, what kind of advanced culture would cause children to harm themselves? For example, the girl using her nails to dig those numbers in the door. I enjoyed the movie, didn't think it was well thought out plot though.--TParis 19:46, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
Very good points, but I liked it because it made you think ALOT, but I agree there were many other alternatives, and yah I don't think the kids would be surviving without help from the aliens (who looked alot like angels). But most movies could do with better alternitives, lol such as Lord of the Rings. :) -Elfbob
Hey I like the way that bot is working it does a very nice job... -Elfbob
- Thanks!--TParis 04:08, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
Hey how u been doin, it's been a while lol. -Elfbob
-Doing good, just checking this every so often. You?--TParis 04:25, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
Good, just a bit P.Oed that C.P. is taking as long as he usually does in writing the last book, lol, and reading up on his "guide" to stay fresh, and of course checking up on this site every now and then to see if we get any newcomers. -Elfbob
[edit] Long Knives
Why did you delete the large quote from The Trial of The long Knives page, it wasn't copyright infringement, it was just a large quote from the book and thus I noted so, which is completly legal, as long as I not making any profit from the quote itself. -Elfbob
There are laws about quotes. You can take passages, but not entire pages. You need to pick information out of there, write it in your own words, and then cite the information.--TParis 13:42, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
Ok -Elfbob
[edit] HI ANDREW
I made a thing but then I broke it, help me fix it.
[edit] Vault of Souls
Where did you move the article in the Vault of Souls Theory page? -Grond
- Hello. Since you had placed your essay at the top of the article instead of properly putting it on the talk page, on Inheritance forums, or in a subsection; I've moved it to a subsection so it doesn't break the proper structure of an article. Thanks for your contributions.--TParis 14:31, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
